Mastering Duality: My Experience *

I’ve wondered about matter/antimatter colliding my whole life.

Listening to Bill’s September 17th blog talk, Mastering Duality,

hearing Bill suggest that we deliberately toggle

between any emotional poles of reaction and judgment,

I hear my own M.O. being given to me now as a practice.

Bill suggests that we deliberately work a muscle group

he has just told us we possess.

A gift that has been unseen and unused,

like Dorothy’s ruby red slippers.

The practice he offers is to touch our deep identification

with polarities, with opposites—

those judgments, those emotions, those evaluations.

Both sides!

The deepest scariest part of humanity that everyone avoids.

Yes, that!

Touch both sides of any polarity.

Just touch. Both sides.

Are you willing?

Touch lightly.

Everything slows down.

Perception softens.

Identification loosens.

As we toggle between the opposites,

the oscillations become chaotic, bump into each other.

It feels weird.

I cannot see the other side or feel any control of anything.

Tummy flips.

There is no other side.

There is no stance. No platform.

The machinery of duality collapses.

Game over.

Just
sit there right now
Don’t do a thing. Just rest.

For your
separation from God
is the hardest work in this world.

Let me bring you trays of food and something
that you like to
drink.

You can use my soft words
as a cushion
for your
head.
