Living in the Mystery!*

Theoretical physicist Fred Alan Wolf once wrote:

“The real trick of life is not to be in the know,

but to be in the mystery.”

What is this strange phenomenon that he’s calling

‘mystery’?

As you know, I’ve had the privilege of living in the quantum ‘void’

where emptiness, nothingness and source itself abound.

Equally, though, I’ve been allowed extensive roaming privileges

in and around the quantum ‘field.’

That latter field is the sphere where mystery itself reigns supreme.

Emanating from the untouchable empty void,

this other-worldly, possibility-rich, quantum realm

is its own totally different and unique reality.

It’s pure magic in other-dimensional action.

For background, let’s look at this ‘quantum field’ through varying lenses:

* Quantum physicists have come to call it the realm of sub-atomic particles.

* Astrophysicists sometimes refer to it as dark matter or even dark energy.

* The spiritually oriented tend to call it the realm of unexplainable miracles.

* From a consciousness perspective, it is the world of infinite possibilities.

* From a truly fantasy perspective, we might just call it the field of dreams.

* From a more mystical perspective, it is the unexplainable dimension of,

you guessed it, pure mystery.

For me, I’ve come to experience the quantum realm or field as

“all of the above,”

but especially as the other-dimensional and weirdly intriguing residence

of unending, infinite, and mind-boggling

MYSTERY.

Our word mystery doesn’t just mean ‘humanly unexplainable.’

In truth, none of us can be “in the know” about, nor can we explain, mystery.

In contrast, this simple word connotes a truly alternate dimension, realm or world,

one that abounds with ingredients than can only thrive

in an enigmatic setting of pure possibility—

the invisible, rich, magical ingredients of a quantum reality.

Yet, this “other-worldly world” of mystery is one that lives deep within us,

in the subterranean soup of your and my very being—

attentively creating and carefully guiding our very lives.

Beyond that, the very same mystery lives

in the subterranean soup of all creation, anywhere and everywhere—

attentively creating and carefully guiding, well,

everything that is, and everything that ever could be.

Imagine, an entire dimension of not-yet-manifested ‘everythings’

living richly and fully in a wonder-filled state of infinite potential.

I’d like to take this opportunity to share with you a bit of my own experience

of this other-worldly and equally inner-worldly world of mystery

(with apologies for having to use inadequate and symbolic human language

to describe a many-times-bigger-dimensional phenomenon).

This enchanted realm—that of mystery!—

has generously revealed to me its very essence:

It is a world teeming with infinite wonder,

filled with incalculable magic

and capable of endless possible expressions.

Every ubiquitous sub-atomic particle within it

delightfully sparkles with a fully self-contained, magician-like nature,

while filling every quantum non-space around it

with its own exuberant pulsings of celebration and awe.

This enigmatic realm—visible clearly if seen through quantum eyes—

is teeming with the excitement and thrill of creation.

Any creation. Every creation, All creations.

Here, every possibility, every potential, is celebrated

for its uniqueness, exquisiteness and beauty.

Indeed, celebration of creation itself is on the daily menu!

To me, this mystery-rich world looks like a kind of ‘pre-creative factory’

whose one and only tool is its very own sub-atomic, potential-rich

quantum power.

Indeed, if it were a bit more human, like us,

we might swear that there’s an invisible magician

hiding behind an equally invisible curtain in the quantum room.

But there’s not.

The mystery itself is the invisible magician,

with its own innate power, wisdom and know-how to create anything

in any way, from pure nothing … into anything.

How does it do it?

How does it create these somethings from nothing?

By doing nothing at all, actually.

By being simply, well, mystery itself.

Simply put, it’s done by quantum magic!

Indeed, all of what we call reality is a purely quantum magic show!

Come to think of it, you and I are actually

our very own quantum reality show!

I’ve sometimes wondered if the main reason that I’ve been permitted

to access, embrace and experience this quantum field’s

mystical, magical and mystery-abundant nature

is so that I can now share its otherwise untellable mystery

with you.

Again, here’s the best news:

Mystery is not just a macro-cosmic phenomenon, living ‘out there,’

it’s also a micro-cosmic one, living and thriving ‘in here.’

Yes, THE macro-cosmic power is equally our very own micro-cosmic power,

the mystery-propelled power behind your and my human throne.

Residing invisibly in the sub-atomic regions of our very own bodies,

‘mystery’ treasures and celebrates the wonder

of everything that you and I happen to be.

Ponder that reality for a moment:

Here, in your very own “inner sanctum” of quantum mystery,

everything about you—everything!—is being celebrated

every moment of every day!

Wouldn’t it be wonderful for you and me to join in this internal celebration?

What if we could have a personal connection, even a bond,

with this dimension of utter mystery within us?

After all, many of us experience an intimate relationship

with our bodies, minds, energies, emotions and souls.

Likewise, why can’t we enjoy a close and meaningful relationship

with our very own mystery-filled quantum field?

… with our very own mystery nature?

Perhaps this possibility has just never occurred to us.

Or, maybe no one has ever mentioned to us that it’s here,

within us, waiting for us to connect with it

and enjoy its company.

Until now, that is.
