I am Space ... *
and aren't we all!

Quantum Source ... Quantum World ... Quantum Void ... Quantum You!
Donna and I recently attended a unique program
at our city’s planetarium.
In it, the planetarium’s inner ceiling (space dome)
became filled with moving, dancing images of the cosmos
while powerful classical music by Vivaldi and Beethoven
played symphonically in our delighted ears.
For me, this meditative sound and light show
quickly became a profound mystical experience.
Almost immediately, I felt pulled up into the vibrant cosmos
as it visually moved and danced above my physical head.
Once immersed within its seemingly endless expanse,
I noticed my human form disappearing,
now transforming into the freer form of space itself.
Shortly, an authoritative, confident inner voice announced:
“I am space! You are space! We all are space!”
I was transfixed in this spatial realm,
captivated by its sheer elegance,
mesmerized by its enormous power
and fully owned by its strong embrace.
It was soon clear to me that, indeed,
I am space.
As surely as I am human, spiritual, light and quantum,
I am—make that ‘you and I’ are—space.
In these few magical moments, the cosmos called me into itself.
It made it clear that there is no separation between us.
In a sense, it initiated me anew into my spatial identity.
For many years, I had known, and even experienced, myself
as space … and equally as time.
But this experience seemed to be, well, different:
It was space’s intentional way of making an official announcement—
one that it wanted both you and me to really, really get:
that we are as much space as we are physical,
as much as we are human, as much as we are spiritual.
In short, as one of our multiple identities, we can claim that
we are space itself.
Does this sound a bit weird to you? If so, it’s understandable.
After all, our human world is based on a belief in duality,
differences, other-ness and separateness.
Our human eyes are not designed to see oneness or is-ness,
but rather to see everything as separate and different.
Thus, at night we gaze in awe at a colorful sunset,
a full moon or a star-lit cosmos ‘above,’
rarely pausing to think that “That’s me that I’m looking at!”
Let’s pause here to look at space through three other sets of eyes:
· First, through the eyes of energy.
Here, we see our energetic connection to this cosmos—
our personal energy connected to the energy of this endless sky.
We feel rhythmically intertwined with this mighty space above.
We even feel the pulsings of the cosmos within our bodies,
and experience those seemingly separate pulsings as one and the same.
· Second, through the eyes of light—spiritual eyes.
Spiritually, you and I are light beings. In this spiritual identity,
we notice ourselves having a soul-to-soul bond with space.
The seeming differences between us have now fallen away.
Our soul and space’s soul are one and the same.
We’re a complete unity, we’re spiritually one.
· Third, through quantum eyes.
Imagine yourself as the “quantum you,”
the ‘far-beyond-human you’ that is complete Void and Emptiness.
Now, picture your quantum self imagining and dreaming
your very nothingness as if it were everything-ness.
More specifically, imagine your quantum self dreaming itself
as space … then time … then light … then being itself (God) …
then consciousness … then energy … then physicality …
then, of course, human.
Are you ready for the punch line implied in this scenario?
Here it is: You are all of these quantumly imagined expressions.
The quantum you is experiencing itself/yourself as space, time,
light and all of these other qualities of experience.
More specifically and pointedly here, you are space.
Let’s take a look at space from the view of modern science.
Here, we learn that our bodies are actually 99.999% space.
Our illusion, of course, is that these beautiful bodies of ours
are physical—quite convincingly and persistently so, in fact.
What an impressive trick of the eyes!
And what an equally impressive trick of our sub-conscious mind:
to fool our brain and mind into seeing our human space
as solid matter!
If we put our bodies under science’s modern microscope,
we discover that we harbor in the inner space of our bodies
the very same ingredients that exist in space “out there.”
Light, for example. We know that the cosmos is filled
with seemingly endless stars, each of which emit powerful light.
Likewise, our bodies are filled with trillions of bio-photons:
quantized photons of light in the ultraviolet and low visible range.
Indeed, these internal ‘stars’ in our bodies
are our very own personalized version of space’s external stars.
“As above, so below!”
Sound, as a second example. Astrophysicists have discovered
that the cosmos itself, and stars in particular,
produce and express a wide range of sounds—
powerful sounds that actually play a major role
in moving the universe’s light through its vast space.
Our energetic and physical form is equally filled with sounds.
Each of our chakras emits a unique sound or tone,
and some evidence shows that various sounds/notes/tones
fill and flow through our body’s electro-magnetic field,
though at frequencies too low for conscious detection.
If you were mystically attuned enough, you might even hear
your own body expressing your unique nature in song.
Let’s step back and drink in this announcement:
that you and I are not just connected to and unified with space,
but that we actually are space itself?
Even more pertinent, let’s sit in its implied invitation:
to consciously embrace and own this expansive identity?
Did you experience space calling your name?
Inviting you into itself?
Reminding you that, indeed, you are its stars, its planets,
its movements, its sounds, its light, its expansiveness,
its power, its energy, its colors, its wonder?
Whether you did or didn’t,
can you now feel space’s invitation—the invitation to join it,
experience it, identify with it, become it, be it—
as it stirs within you … as it is you?
Can you allow your sense of personal identity to include
not only your human-ness and your spirituality,
but your space-ness as well?
And, while we’re at it, at the risk of possibly creating overkill,
let’s add to this invitation space’s intimate buddy:
time!
Yes, just as you and I are space, we are also time.
I’ll leave focus of time’s invitation to us for another time,
Briefly, though, I invite you to consider
that the quantum version of ‘you’ is thoroughly enjoying
the picture of yourself as time.
I invite the human version of you to try embracing it also.
Thanks for taking this intriguing journey with me.
Thanks for allowing your humanly identified self
to take a welcome break from its limited human eyes
and peer at our vast cosmos, our seemingly endless space,
through the other sets of eyes that live within you.
In closing, I wish you the most expansive, wondrous
awareness and experience of yourself possible.
Discovering and embracing the bigger and deeper dimensions
of yourself and of everything around you
results, I believe, in your ‘awakening’ from the illusion
that you are only human and oh-so-limited.
Embracing, owning and living in your cosmic, spatial ‘self’
can be a powerful boost in that awakening!
