What in the world are you smoking? you ask

Another new agey agree-to-what-is let go-isms?

Well, scripture says to be thankful in all things

Grateful even for the bummer-downer-stuff we all hate

Like mean people, betrayals, hurt feelings, humiliating shame

2am stuff that stares relentlessly at you under your covers

So, get radical and step up this game – celebrate it too

At least be friendly and de-collapse those wave functions

Suddenly you’re also cheering your graduation

This high school called being human just got completed

That stuff, good and bad, was the curriculum you elected to take

Of course, your high school pictures make you laugh

So serious and earnest and innocent – so young too

A roadside attraction receding in the rearview mirror

And now there’s a new scene of pure emptiness

This nothing ain’t got nothing to collapse but its free

Let’s celebrate

Everything that was,

returning to nothingness

that is Smiling
