"... but the cat came back!"

We all know Bill has extended an invitation
on behalf of the Quantum Void
to explore and even merge with its pure emptiness.
With “SourceForce” as our true nature
we already are that state of endless possibilities.
Like Schrödinger and his famous cat,
our observer self has collapsed a particular wave function
that shows up as our reality.
But what makes our uninvolved observer
manifest a dead cat or a playful kitten?
This manifestation, drawing upon Source, is happening
many times moment to moment
as long as there is space/time for it to occur in.
My guess is that our observer has two elements.
Unconscious awareness and conscious awareness.
The unconscious and its hidden content is the actual decider
when it comes to creating our reality.
Our conscious self either goes along
or goes into reactivity.
Resistance to reality
in the forms of aversion and judgment or yearning and grasping
simply strengthen the personal self.
Yet, reality always wins.
Many spiritual practices preach the virtue of letting go and surrender
because this lessens the grip of the personal self.
Its constant chatter drowns out the silent awareness of our universal self.
One possibility to account for this “mistake of intellect”
is that our inner observer is not so uninvolved.
It could be conditioned by forgotten traumas, socialization
and other influences our conscious mind is not aware of.
This conditioning influences or even determines the reality
that presents itself to our conscious self
without any effort on our part.
So far so good, but back to Bill’s invitation
to float the emptiness of the Quantum Void.
We may have noticed how blissful and expansive that state is.
We’re no one going nowhere, and that feels wonderful.
And, then like the old (very old) song,
but the cat come back the very next day,
the small self with its insistence on reactivity jumps on our lap
with its usual litany of complaints, concerns and miscellaneous thoughts.
This mental noise affirms its existence
by masking the unconditioned reality of silent, pure awareness
untouched by externalities.
The pressing question is how to address this interference
and collapse the wave function of unbounded awareness
instead of that persistent, personal self.
One approach is to surface and address the stresses,
beliefs and impressions held in our subconscious
that adversely influence our reality.
Working with Bill, dream work, systemic constellations
are some of the ways to clarify that content.
The other is to simply notice when we are resisting
or grasping or straining in some manner.
The state of pure consciousness, the emptiness
and unknowing place of the Quantum
does not strain or strive.
It just is.
If we can observe our conditioned self dispassionately,
then we can remember
and return to the awareness
that is aware of itself
free of content and conditioning.
This path of remembering invites us to move
from the individual to the universal.
Think of someone you love
and, as you resonate in the feeling of that love,
let it expand without limits.
Let it become universal love.
Unconditional and nondual.
In this state the tangibility (Bill’s terminology) of the personal self fades.
No subject or object or the knowing between the two.
In this emptiness
love is all there is.
